Quick Overview

BenQ TH683 with Football Mode is just the all-in-one projector you need to enjoy home entertainment. Featuring Full HD 1080P resolution with 3200 ANSI lumens and 10000:1 high contrast ratio, TH683 also offers multi display for ultra-smooth connection to keep your enjoy high image quality without worry!

Football mode

The BenQ TH683 offers an excellent feature, especially for soccer fans, the football mode. It is specially designed for sports events and ensures a good balance of brightness and colour quality. Since most sporting events take place in the day, it is advantageous that the co-ordination between light output and color quality is optimised.Another advantage of the football mode is the audio adjustment. Thanks to CinemaMaster Audio+ technology, the BenQ TH683 is able to adjust the sound so that the commentary isn't  drowned out by background noises.

Usually a projector is equipped with a small loudspeaker to output warning sounds or to play background sounds from a PowerPoint presentation. This is not the case on the TH683. Thanks to the CinemaMaster Audio+ technology, the BenQ TH683 produces strong audio playback. It uses a 10 Watt loudspeaker in connection with the BenQ Audio Enhancer from MaxxAudio. This makes for appealing audio quality, both for football and films.

Of course, the BenQ TH683 is also a 3D Full HD projector. Thanks to its good light output, it offers an attractive 3D image. It uses the DLP Link technology in which the 3D glasses are kept in sync by the reflection of the signal from the screen. For this BenQ offers compatible 3D eyewear which you can find in the optional accessories.

Other features

Other features of the BenQ TH683 include an MHL-capable HDMI connection, via which Smartphones or tablets with MHL capability can be connected with a single cable for both data transfer and charging. Another useful function of the MHL port is that it can power the BenQ QCast dongle offering an optional wireless solution. In our BenQ TH683 test we also used its 5V DC USBconnection to power a google chromecast, but there are many other non MHL dongles that could be used to offer another wireless solution. Vertical keystone correction of +/- 40 degrees is also available for easy positioning of the projector.

The DLP projector uses the 1920 x 1080 pixels of a Full HD resolution in a 16:9 format. Its light output of 3200 lumens and contrast of 10,000:1 are attractive. In our BenQ TH683 review we found it handled darker picture contents very well.

The connections of the BenQ cover everything needed in everyday life. It has 2 HDMI inputs, one of which is MHL-capable along with a VGA input for the PC. A composite video connection is available for analog video signals and the internal loudspeaker is fed via a stereo RCA or 3.5 mm jack connection. A 3.5 mm jack output is also available. The control of the projector is possible via RS232interface and there is a mini USB for service. Lastly there is the 5V DC USB connection for powering external dongles.

The lens of the projector reaches an image width of 2m at a distance between approx. 230 and 300 cm.
